Refused to honor ticketed price of item in the store! We drove from out of town to look at some chairs that were advertised here. When we walked in the door, a beautiful chair caught our eye and was tagged as $74.99. The price tag had a picture of the chair on it, as well as the model name, and no visible price expiry either. So this wasn't a case of someone just moving a price tag from another chair; this tag belonged with this chair. We were an easy sale, we had them order four and paid within ten minutes of walking in the door! Since we were from out of town, after we got in the car we did one last double check of the receipt before the drive home to make extra sure we didn't miss anything! We ran the numbers, and we were billed nearly $70 extra! Went back into the store and they refused to give us the ticket priced. Told us we could pay the higher price per chair, or just take our money back. Seeing as we don't bring our money to businesses with no consumer ethics, we took our money back and begin our several month long hunt for chairs once again! Absolutely shocked at the fact they wouldn't honor the price on the price tag WHICH HAS A PICTURE AND MODEL OF CHAIR ON THE PRICE TAG TOO, but would rather lose a huge sale instead of refunding us the difference and fixing their system error! ALSO - make sure you read and understand their return policy because most staff do not explain this. We had spoken with two staff and were moments away from putting our credit card in the machine before a third staff member (manager?) stepped in and asked if we had been told the policy. Apparently some items can't be returned without "authorization" from calling their head office, having your story told, and then they decide if you can return it, and whether or not you're paying restocking if they do allow your return. Buyer beware. Seems like some questionable business ethics, and definitely lacking in customer support and awareness of consumer price ticketing laws in Canada.
